AS nice and relaxing as Tingaki can be, its often nice to get out and about and travel the island. We did this on our last trip to Tingaki in September. Tucked away opposite the Meni Beach Hotel is a friendly car/bike hire place "Nikos Bikes". We decided we wanted the use of a 300cc Quad bike for 4 or 5 days so we could get about the Island to take a break from sitting on the beach. Nikos and his crew are a very welcoming bunch, with all the information on the cars, quads, scooters, 125s and bicycles. No fuss, no hidden costs, just easy going and very friendly. The transaaction was fuss free as well, just had to produce my driving license to hire the quad, filled in a simple form with relevant info of where I was staying, a detailed handover and talkthrough of the controls on the quad, and we were off. Can't recommend Nikos Bikes enough....from early morning to late at night, you'll find them there 7 days a week only eager to advise and provide you with the best source of transport for your individual needs.
